The 1976 film Taxi Driver follows the story of Travis Bickle, a mentally unstable retired veteran who takes up the job of a Taxi Driver.
Travis falls for a girl named Iris and soon they start dating, but this relationship soon backfired. Travis is then bothered by the drainage leak in the city and the Prostitual circle (people engaged in sexual activity for payment)So he decides to rescue Iris a 14 year old prostitute from their community.
Arthur from Joker is quite similar to Travis. A phsyco dude who ends up starting a REVOLUTION! After realising how screwed up his life is. Well y’all know a lot about Joker so I’m not stretching it.
Comparing B/W Joker and Taxi driver
We will surely find a lot of similarities in the character development of both. Both of them at the start undergo a phase of mental depression and dissatisfaction which indeed triggered them to fight for their beliefs. Both Arthur and Travis was unable to keep up with their relationships and their deeds have brought a huge impact on the society, though Arthur’s path was more violent and threatening he had no other option,he wanted to change the corrupted aristocracy system of the world. Travis on the good hand decides to rescue Iris alone which inturn developed into a symbol of heroism amongst the people. But both the films are undoubtedly MASTERPIECES
From the view point of the Directors
Martin Scorsese once said in an interview that he too wanted to do the Joker which inturn landed to Todd’s hands. Tod Philips got so into the cinematography which triggered the audience into a mind bending atmosphere. In my point of view the Joker is taken so perfectly that criticism from Scorcese fans would be seized!!. Both the films are on the top list of Hollywood and I know that it’ll continue to be so.
Well Robert De Niro’s(the actor who played Travis Bickle) appearance synchronised a connection bw the 2 masterpieces. And we can indeed deduce that both the film were surely the outcomes of the hard-work put forward by the respective crew.

Y’know, in the movie taxi driver, Scorsese is being shot.. I mean he is in the frame for a sec or two..
Seen that part?
Looks like you did a lot of research!

Hey!! Yep! Scorcese was Travis’s first fare although being the director of the film he did the nastiest scene of all!!

Yeah!
An interesting fact of Scorsese movies and Tarantino’s .. is that they makes killing look less vulgar than they really are.. they may seem brutal.. but most of the times, we’re with the protagonist. especially in the Inglourious Bastards.. And the murders are not that horrendous and we don’t tend to grimace like we do while watching other movies like Final Destination.
